The Alienware 17 is available with up to a Core i7-4940MX Extreme Edition processor though most customers are unlikely to notice any difference over the base i7-4710MQ in our review unit. An even higher-end graphics card is available in the form of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 880M 8GB, the fastest graphics card offered in any notebook; this is an upgrade worth considering for hardcore gamers. Lastly, top-end Alienware 17 configurations offer 32 GB of RAM though the 16 GB in our review unit is sufficient for nearly all tasks, including gaming.
